There's no question that Klay Thompson is one of the best shooters of all time.
The former Golden State Warriors star continues to do his thing with the Dallas Mavericks, and on Thursday, he climbed one rung up the NBA's all-time 3-point leaderboard.
Thompson now ranks fourth all-time, with 2,805 made 3-pointers.
He leapfrogged Damian Lillard (2,804). Lillard is still active, but he's sitting out this season with the Portland Trail Blazers after tearing his Achilles in the playoffs last season.
Thompson ranks fourth behind:
- Steph Curry (4,201)
- James Harden (3,293)
- Ray Allen (2,973)
Harden often gets slept on in this conversation, but this is a great reminder of his prowess as well.

Thompson has a decent chance at passing Allen. He's not the player he once was, at either end of the floor, but he can still get hot in a hurry.
The Mavs expected to use veterans like Thompson, Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving to be contenders this season.
Instead, it's mostly been the Cooper Flagg show as Dallas already considers moving off of AD.
Thompson wouldn't necessarily have a ton of trade value, but the NBA is always going to value shooting, so whether he sticks with the Mavs or moves elsewhere, Thompson will surely get the chance to keep letting it fly.
