Cooper Flagg continues to prove how special he is throughout his rookie season.

At the moment, he's tracking to join a short list in NBA history that currently includes just two names: Michael Jordan and... Lionel Simmons.

Some rookies turn out better than others.

But right now, Flagg is looking like one of the good ones for the Dallas Mavericks, who made him the No. 1 pick out of Duke in the 2025 NBA Draft.

The key feat here is that Flagg ranks in the top-50 in the NBA in all of points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks.

Jordan and Simmons are the only two rookies to complete a season doing that since the NBA/ABA merger, according to OptaStats.

Flagg is averaging 18.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.8 blocks per game.

Those averages declined slightly after Wednesday night, when Flagg left after just 15 minutes with an ankle injury and didn't return.

But assuming Flagg can return to health, he's got a chance to remain in this rare company.

Blocks is going to be the key to making this happen. Flagg ranks exactly No. 50 in the league in blocks per game.

But given his athleticism and basketball IQ, he should continue to put himself in good spots to make all these various things happen. And even if he doesn't quite join this club, Flagg is still quite a special player.
