Kyrie Irving... Back to the Cleveland Cavaliers

There's a legitimate trade conversation to be had about the Dallas Mavericks guard, a structure that would likely have to include point guard Darius Garland going from the Cavs to the Mavs in return.

Cleveland.com's Chris Fedor pitched this idea recently on a podcast.

"I do think it's Finals or bust," Fedor said to justify the idea, adding, "... The trajectory of Dallas does not align with Kyrie anymore."

There will be a couple things that would have to happen to make this deal come together.

The first is the finances. The good news here is that Garland and Irving are close enough contract-wise to come up with something that works.

The second is Irving's injury timeline. He tore his ACL in the second half of last season. The Cavaliers would have to feel good enough about Irving's health to take this chance.

But if both of those parts come together, there'd be reason for both sides to consider.

As a younger player, Garland could align more with the Cooper Flagg timeline in Dallas.

And as a former champion who has already played in Cleveland, Irving would be a big swing for the Cavs to take to try and finally get over their playoff hump and make a deep run.
