Cavs' Lonzo Ball gets the same reaction from fans every time he shoots a shot image

Lonzo Ball was never a great outside shooter.

Now, though, he's having one of the worst shooting seasons of all time for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

And every time he shoots, the crowd goes the opposite of wild.

According to Cavs writer Danny Cunningham, "There is an audible groan in the arena every time Lonzo Ball shoots."

That's not a good sign from the home fans for one of their own players.

Ball entered Monday's matinee against the Thunder shooting just 30.6% from the floor this season.

He's an even worse 27.1% from 3-point range.

His effective field goal percentage, which accounts for the added value of 3-point shots, is still just 41.7%.

Ball has mostly fallen out of the Cavs' rotation because of his struggles. Whereas he entered the season as the secondary point guard behind Darius Garland, it's now Craig Porter Jr. Who is the first point guard to play when Garland isn't on the floor.

The idea of trading for Lonzo before the season made sense for the Cavs. They gave up Isaac Okoro to the Bulls, subtracting a player who couldn't initiate offense for one who can.

Ball had shot a more manageable 34.4% from 3-point range last season (36.6% overall), which at least made him playable with his passing and defense factored in.

This season, it's been worse.

At this point, it's not clear what Lonzo's long-term NBA future looks like if he can't figure out his shooting.
