Cavs linked to Kevin Love reunion as LeBron James rumors swirl image

Kevin Love's name returned to the headlines on Monday when he moved in a three-team trade to the Utah Jazz. Love referred to himself as a "math problem," knowing he was only in the deal to make salaries match.

The good news for Love: The Jazz are expected to buy him out. And now he'll have his pick of a new destination.

Could Love return to the Cleveland Cavaliers?

Local reporter Zach Shafron thinks so:

"His impact off the floor is amazing. Here’s a great person, advocate, coach/player and can help everyone on this team trying to make that push to be a title winner like Love was in 2016. The man was a superstar for many years and knows how to play the game, as we all know.

"Additionally, I don’t believe he would demand any type of large contract to get signed either. Fans would get that opportunity to cheer him each night, relishing in the glory of all those years and, of course, the aforementioned title run."

Love will turn 37 in September, so he's getting up there. Last season for the Heat, he averaged 5.3 points and 4.1 rebounds in 11 minutes a night.

The NBA champion wouldn't carry a big workload in Cleveland, but he'd be a great presence.

He might be worth pursuing by the Cavs just for the good vibes. And if Love shows up, fans will quickly pivot and wonder if LeBron James might join him for a reunion.
