The Cleveland Cavaliers have gotten off to a solid start in the 2025–26 season, despite a lopsided loss in their most recent outing. After dropping their season opener to the New York Knicks, Cleveland bounced back with three straight wins before falling to the Boston Celtics in blowout fashion.

On Friday, NBA insider Michael Scotto reported that the Cavaliers have signed forward Chris Livingston to a two-way contract. Livingston, who spent the past two seasons with the Wisconsin Herd — the Milwaukee Bucks’ G League affiliate — also appeared in 42 NBA games for the Bucks during that time. He is not active for Friday night’s game against the Toronto Raptors.

During his stint with the Herd, Livingston averaged more than 18 points per game, showcasing his scoring ability and defensive versatility. In his limited NBA action, he averaged 1.3 points and 1.3 rebounds per game, starting once.

For Cleveland, the move adds depth to a roster already off to a promising start and fills the team’s final two-way slot. The Cavaliers and Brooklyn Nets were the last two teams in the league with open two-way positions. Livingston joins Luke Travers and Nae’Qwan Tomlin as the Cavaliers’ other two-way players.

The signing also represents a homecoming for Livingston, who was born in Akron, Ohio, the same hometown as LeBron James. He played one season at the University of Kentucky before being selected 58th overall by the Bucks in the 2023 NBA Draft.

The Cavaliers return to action Sunday when they host the Atlanta Hawks.
