It was only a matter of time before the Cleveland Cavaliers added a backcourt or frontcourt contributor to their roster.
On Tuesday, the Cavaliers cut ties with Chris Livingston after a short stint with the franchise, opening up a roster spot. On Wednesday, Cleveland used that vacancy to sign a 6-foot-8 former Boston Celtics forward to assist Donovan Mitchell.
“The Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to a two-way deal with Tristan Enaruna,” HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto reported on X/Twitter.
Enaruna’s NBA career has been rather uneventful thus far. After spending two years at Kansas, one with Iowa State, and two with Cleveland State, Enaruna declared for the 2024 NBA Draft.
Considering the Almere, Netherlands native wasn’t a standout contributor at the collegiate level and was among the oldest NBA prospects, it wasn’t surprising to witness him go undrafted.
Enaruna signed with the Celtics for the Summer League after failing to hear his name on draft night, but was waived by the franchise before opening night (prompting him to join the franchise’s G-League affiliate, the Maine Celtics).
Enaruna started the 2025-26 campaign with the Cleveland Charge (Cavaliers’ G-League affiliate), but played well enough to earn a promotion in late January.
The 24-year-old averaged 18.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game while shooting 50.5% from the field with the Charge this season.
Perhaps Enaruna’s new NBA opportunity is exactly what the doctor ordered.
