The Chicago Bulls may not be a playoff team just yet, but they may be on their way. That is, in part, thanks to a potential star who's doing everything he can to pull this team into the postseason while also making a case for the All-Star game. Josh Giddey, the 23-year-old guard for the Bulls, is posting an incredible set of stats for the season, averaging 20.1 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game, all while shooting 47.5% from the floor.
Giddey's emergence couldn't come at a better time for a Bulls team looking for a new identity following the end of the Zach LaVine era. He's shooting better than ever before, hitting 40.5% from three, upping his attempts from beyond the arc to 4.8 per game. Not known for his three-point shooting, his per-game average is up nearly two full attempts per game since he was traded from Oklahoma City.
In part due to Giddey leading the offense, the Bulls remain one of the best scoring teams in the league. While always a good facilitator, his improved scoring and more reliable shooting have many expecting the Australian to make his first All-Star Game this year.
Especially after he helped lead the Bulls past the Atlanta Hawks on Dec. 21, 152-150. Which, to date, was the highest-scoring game in the NBA for the 2025-2026 season. The young point guard had a stellar night, scoring 19, with 12 assists and nine rebounds, while also nabbing two steals. He did all that while still shooting 50% from the floor on the night.
The Bulls currently sit at 10th in the Eastern Conference standings, currently as the last play-in team. While they're in a division with the Detroit Pistons and the Cleveland Cavaliers, they're currently on a three-game heater and are 4-1 in their last five. Things may be coming together for the club, and Giddey may be the focal point of all of it.
