The horrible reality of the situation for Josh Giddey of the Chicago Bulls is that Chicago has absolutely no reason to give him the money he's looking for.
Giddey might believe that he deserves all the money he wants, but the Bulls don't have much of a reason to give him that.
Regardless of whether they believe it's the right or wrong decision, or whether they'll figure something out, the Bulls have all the leverage in this situation.
Why does Josh Giddey remain unsign?
According to Brett Siegel of Clutch Points, that's the reason why he remains unsigned.
“Josh Giddey and the Chicago Bulls have yet to reach a deal this offseason. The same can be said about Quentin Grimes and Cam Thomas with the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets, respectively. All four restricted free agency situations are held up because of leverage, and in all four cases, it's the organizations that basically have full control of the players,” he wrote.
It'll be interesting to see how things play out for Giddey over the next few weeks to months.

The expectation around the NBA is for the Bulls to get a deal done, but they obviously don't want to give him everything he's looking for. Giddey is a decent player, but might not be worth all the money he's seeking.
There's also a scenario where he could take a cheaper deal to try to hit the free agency market a bit earlier, but that all has to play itself out, too.
Regardless, the Bulls have something with a young guard, so giving up on him for nothing would be a horrible decision.
As of now, that shouldn't be the case.
