Not much has unfolded in Chicago this offseason, but that could soon change.

Over the past couple of months, the biggest moves for the Bulls have been taking Noa Essengue in the 2025 NBA Draft and signing head coach Billy Donovan to an extension. Of course, the biggest storyline throughout this period has been the Bulls’ restricted free agency negotiations with Josh Giddey,

While the Bulls have been willing to offer around $20 million per year, the Australian point guard has been unwavering in his demand to get a number closer to $30 million. Considering their sizeable gap at the negotiating table, the Bulls have been struggling to move forward with their offseason, but they might be able to strike a different deal in the not-so-distant future.

Time to end another saga?

While the Bulls have certainly had their fair share of headaches in the Giddey negotiations, the Golden State Warriors have had a similar venture on the West Coast with Jonathan Kuminga. As suggested by Bleacher Report’s Grant Hughes, there could be a perfect deal for both sides.

Bulls receive: Jonathan Kuminga

Warriors receive: Coby White

Although this deal isn’t exactly perfect, it would fit the restrictions of the sign-and-trade, given White’s reasonable expiring deal. Meanwhile, the Bulls would add another building block in Kuminga and have one of the most athletic and intriguing forward duos in the league with him and Matas Buzelis.

In general, there might not be any easy fixes this offseason for either side, but this deal might be the one way to get a bit closer to a true resolution.
