The Chicago Bulls are dealing with an injury scare to Coby White on Monday night.

As the Bulls and the Minnesota Timberwolves wrapped up the first quarter of action, White left the game to get checked on. The Bulls listed him as questionable to return initially.

As Chicago geared up for the second half against the Timberwolves, the Bulls made the final call on White's status: He has been ruled out.

While any setback that takes a player out of the game is concerning, White’s in-game setback on Monday creates some added worry, as he injured his calf. It’s the same calf that was injured at the beginning of the year, forcing an 11-game absence for the veteran guard.

How Did the Bulls Fare Without White?

White missed the start of the 2025-2026 season for the Bulls.

During that early stretch, the Bulls began the season as one of the hottest teams in the NBA. They didn’t lose their first game until November 2. Once they lost one, a concerning trend developed.

By the time White returned to the court to make his season debut with the Bulls, they held a 6-5 record. They lost their first set of action with 30 minutes of White. He scored 27 points, eight assists, and came down with four rebounds.

White couldn’t find consistency with his availability until December. Leading up to Monday’s action, White had played in the past 10 games for the Bulls. During that time, he shot 44 percent from the field, 31 percent from three, and scored 18.6 points per game. He also produced 3.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.

Chicago has won six of those 10 games before taking on the Timberwolves on Monday night.

Sitting ninth in the Eastern Conference with a 15-16 record, the Bulls are looking to get back within the playoff range. For the time being, they are going to be without White.
