The past few seasons have not been the best for the Charlotte Hornets, to say the least, as the team has not won over 40 games since the 2021-22 season, when they lost in the Play-In tournament.

Since then, the team has been a bona fide lottery team, despite having talented players on the roster such as point guard LaMelo Ball and wing Miles Bridges.

Brandon Miller and Kon Knueppel, two of the last three high picks for the team in recent seasons, have quickly become key parts of Charlotte's young core. The Hornets have shown moments of promise this season, which can inspire hope among fans, even as they recognize the work still ahead. NBA Hall of Famer Dwayne Wade's comments about the team add an interesting perspective that could foster optimism.

On the Amazon Prime post-game analysis show, "NBA NightCap", Wade, who serves as a color commentator and analyst for the company, spoke on the Hornets, saying, "They're my favorite professional AAU team," as the panel reacted to the highlights of the team's 120-105 win over the Orlando Magic.

Of course, many online found the comment funny, but Wade did not mean any harm; he actually backed up that statement, saying, "they just be hooping."

Charlotte is currently 12th in the Eastern Conference at 12-20 and is aiming for its first playoff appearance since the 2015-16 season, when the Kemba Walker-led Hornets, ironically, lost to Wade's Heat in the first round. Despite the challenges, this goal can motivate fans to stay hopeful and supportive as the team strives to improve.
