Brandon Miller has been an awesome player for the Charlotte Hornets over the past three seasons. Of course, he has struggled with injuries for a large part of that, but he has shone whenever he does play.
Most people are aware that he is a talented offensive player with elite athleticism. Some people who have not watched Miller may not know that he is also a superb defender, particularly with his exceptional shot-blocking instincts.
Miller on his viral block against Antetokounmpo
In the December 29th game between the Hornets and the Milwaukee Bucks, Miller got a huge block against Giannis Antetokounmpo. It was not a run-of-the-mill block because the two-time MVP was going up for a dunk in transition.
It was such a fantastic block that it went viral because it is rare that Antetokounmpo gets stopped at the rim. The clip went viral on social media, which led to people noticing that Miller was talking some trash after the block.

Miller is a player who typically plays the small forward or even shooting guard positions. However, he gets one block per game this season. That shows his defensive ability and good anticipation at the rim.
The block against Antetokounmpo is a good example of that, as Miller proved that he can make big plays on both ends. As the clip went viral, people started noticing that Miller was worth the hype of being the first player to be selected after Victor Wembanyama in 2023.
"Giannis is not a smaller guy, so having that confidence, trust, and belief in my teammates to make winning plays, it gives everyone confidence to make winning plays like that. We have everybody having the mindset of blocking everything," Miller said on ESPN's NBA Today.
"I probably said some nice words to him."
Miller is one of the difference-makers on the Hornets team. Now that they have Kon Knueppel boosting the team's offense alongside Miller and LaMelo Ball, the future is bright in Charlotte. They just need to put everything together and find the right mix.
