Liam McNeeley talks rookie season, enjoys Charlotte's rookie class image

The Charlotte Hornets have impressed this season, in large part due to their incredible rookie class.

Headlined by Kon Knueppel, the Hornets have gotten impact minutes from each of their four rookies so far this season. Knueppel has dazzled with his scoring ability and shooting efficiency.

Ryan Kalkbrenner has dominated defensively, anchoring the middle of the paint. Additionally, Sion James has played impact minutes as a defensive-minded guard off the bench.

Lastly, is Liam McNeeley. Despite his status as a first round pick, McNeeley has seen the least minutes of all four Hornets rookies. That said, when on the floor, McNeeley has shot efficiently from deep. Currently, he's averaging over 40% from beyond the arc, proving to be a three-point specialist when given the opportunity.

Recently, in an interview with Hoops Hype, McNeeley talked about his rookie season to this point. "I really don't have any complaints. I've loved it so far. Getting to build relationships with the coaches, the staff and the teammates. I guess that's what it's all about. I'm really enjoying it," said McNeeley.

He also opened up on what it's like to develop with three other rookies. "I would say him [Kon], Kalkbrenner and Sion [James], all the rookies have been great to have and just go through this experience. But it's kind of like a freshman class in college. You get really close to them and I've been grateful to get close to them."

Hearing about McNeeley's relationship with his teammates and coaching staff is great news for Hornets fans as they anticipate his development as an integral piece to Charlotte's plans.

With Collin Sexton and Ryan Kalkbrenner ruled out for tonight's game, McNeeley has been called up from the Greensboro Swarm to play against Cleveland.
