Kon Knueppel is on a heater to start his rookie campaign with the Charlotte Hornets

The Duke product has proven that his elite three-point shooting at the collegiate level can translate to the pros, as he is currently averaging 18.3 points per game while connecting on 47.9% of his field goals and 40.6% of his three-point jumpers.

Following Knueppel’s efficient 20-point outing against the Toronto Raptors on Saturday, the X/Twitter account ‘Real Sports’ revealed that the 20-year-old had just achieved a historic feat.

“Most three-point makes through first 20 career games; Knueppel-69, Armoni Brooks (60), Jordan Hawkins (54), Dalton Knecht (48),” the popular stats-based account stated.

If young, up-and-coming sharpshooting guards want to take their talents to the NBA eventually, Knueppel should be among the contributors they study.

The 6-foot-6 wing epitomizes what it means to be shot-ready on the perimeter, as he isn’t a huge fan of sloppy footwork and ball-watching.

Additionally, Knueppel refrains from dipping the ball upon receiving it in catch-and-shoot situations, allowing him to release long-range jumpers in a timely fashion.

With time, the 2025 lottery pick will get more comfortable drilling triples off the dribble, which will help him reach an elevated offensive level with the Hornets.

While the 2025-26 season has virtually just begun, Knueppel should be among the candidates for the Rookie of the Year award based on his outstanding perimeter play.
