The Brooklyn Nets briefly halted their struggles Sunday with a dominant 23-point road win over the Washington Wizards, snapping a four-game losing streak. Entering Tuesday night’s matchup against the Boston Celtics, the Nets hoped that the convincing victory would serve as a turning point.

Instead, Brooklyn’s frustrations continued. The Nets trailed by just one point at halftime and stayed competitive through most of the night, entering the fourth quarter down four. But their offense collapsed in the final 12 minutes, managing only 14 points as the Celtics pulled away late. Boston outscored Brooklyn by 10 in the fourth, ultimately sealing a 113-99 win at Barclays Center.

Rebounding proved to be a defining issue. The Celtics outrebounded the Nets by 10, creating second-chance opportunities that Brooklyn failed to match. Despite the loss, Michael Porter Jr. Turned in another strong effort, leading the Nets with 25 points. Day’Ron Sharpe added an energetic 16 points and seven rebounds off the bench. Porter Jr. Has been one of the few bright spots for Brooklyn, averaging 27.6 points over his last three outings.

The loss dropped the Nets to one of the NBA’s three worst records and deepened an increasingly concerning trend: they remain one of two teams in the league without a home win. Brooklyn fell to 0-7 at Barclays Center, a startling contrast to their 2-5 road record — which, ironically, sits above that of their cross-town rivals, the New York Knicks, who have yet to win away from home.

Brooklyn will now head back on the road for two games, facing the Celtics again before visiting the Toronto Raptors. After that, they return home looking to finally snap their winless streak at Barclays Center when they host the Knicks.
