The Brooklyn Nets have been playing their strongest basketball of the season recently, entering Tuesday night's game having won five of their last eight games.

Although those numbers won't make them contenders in the Eastern Conference, given their season wins total is below 10, it's clear they are performing much better as of late.

That continued Tuesday night as the Brooklyn Nets defeated the Phialdelphia 76ers on the road. Michael Porter Jr. Continued his amazing month of December, scoring 28 points to along with five rebounds and two steals. Nic Claxton added a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Additionally, rookie Egor Demin scored 20 points and dished out five assists.

The strong game from Demin marked his second career game scoring 20 or more. His career high of 23 points came earlier in the season, also against the 76ers.

With the win, Brooklyn has won back-to-back games for the second time this season and have now won six of their last nine contests.

After the game, Porter Jr. Had high praise for his rookie point guard. When speaking about Demin, Porter Jr. Said: “He hit some big ones down the stretch. He made the right plays—passed when he should and shot when he was open. He didn’t force anything.”

That said, Porter Jr. Has been quite strong recently himself. In eight games during the month of December, Porter Jr. Has scored 33 or more in half of them and has scored fewer than 24 points in just one matchup.

After a brief Christmas break, the Nets will return to action Saturday against the Minnesota Timberwolves as they look to win three in a row for the first time in this season.
