The Brooklyn Nets had a questionable 2025 NBA Draft, as they selected prospects who were not high on the big boards. One of those prospects was the 6'6" guard Ben Saraf, who was selected with the 26th overall pick.
After he stood out in the Israeli league, Saraf quickly became an intriguing prospect. He has played a few games for Brooklyn, but he made headlines by scoring 40 points for the Long Island Nets in the G-League. This led to Brooklyn's head coach, Jordi Fernandez, gushing about his rookie.
Fernandez is glad to see Saraf's development
As a 19-year-old, Saraf is a long-term project for the Nets. He is a talented player who can quickly explode for a large number of points. Saraf excels with his perimeter shooting, but his size and athleticism also help him stand out as a slasher with some decent playmaking ability.
In the long run, Saraf could be a long-term contributor for the Nets because he can do well in Fernandez's system. He can be a facilitator, but he won't look lost when he has to run the offense.

Fernandez loves what he has seen from Saraf in both NBA and G-League games. Since Saraf scored 40 points on Monday, Fernandez was glad to see his rookie doing well away from the Brooklyn roster.
"He looked like an NBA player out there. We watched the game and how confident he was, how he shot the ball. We watched the game and how confident he was, how he shot the ball, how he shot the three, his finishes around the rim. If he had finished a few more at the rim, he could've scored 50," Fernandez said on Tuesday.
As long as he keeps developing with Long Island, Saraf could have a strong future with the Brooklyn Nets. It will be a challenge, but since he is still young, Saraf has plenty of time to develop.
Contributing to the Nets' long-term plans is the goal, and it looks like Fernandez has Saraf on his mind. In the long run, it will only get better as Saraf has already shown his potential in Long Island, which could be a preview of what's to come in Brooklyn.
