Jaylen Brown didn’t seem too happy with the NBA’s big announcement on Friday night.

The Boston Celtics guard saw his rival, Jalen Brunson, earn Eastern Conference Player of the Month honors. Brown couldn’t keep a comment to himself.

A simple “shaking my head” was in store for Brown, as he directly responded to the NBA’s social media post honoring Brunson and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who won it on the Western Conference side.

It’s clear that Brown felt he should’ve earned the nod.

How Did Brown Perform in December?

The Celtics played 12 games in December. Brown was a part of the action for all but two of those games.

Seeing the court for 35 minutes per game, Brown shot 53 percent from the field and knocked down 42 percent of his threes. He averaged 31.7 points.

Along with his scoring, Brown came down with 6.5 rebounds and dished out 5.4 assists. He also snatched up 1.2 steals per game on the defensive end.

The Celtics finished the month by going 7-3 with Brown on the floor.

Brunson’s Numbers for Comparison

The Knicks star appeared in three more games than Brown in December. The Knicks managed to go 10-3 in that stretch.

Brunson wasn’t as efficient, going 47 percent from the field and hitting on 40 percent of his threes. He produced 30.6 points per game, slightly down compared to Brown.

In addition, Brunson came down with 3.2 rebounds and dished out 7.1 assists. He turned the ball over just 1.8 times per game.

The numbers are close, with Brown having a slight edge in the scoring department, but Brunson’s record and additional games gave him the edge. Perhaps, the supposed snub from Brown motivates the Celtics star to maintain his high-caliber player throughout January.
