The Celtics won the NBA Finals in dominating fashion in 2024.

It was about a decade and a half in the making, after countless ECF and NBA Finals appearances since their last title.

When the parade plans were in the making, the Celtics owner didn't hesitate to not invite one former Celtic.

Who did they not invite?

Wyc Grousbeck said in a recent podcast appearance that former Celtic Kendrick Perkins was not invited to the championship parade.

Perkins is a TV personality with ESPN and does studio coverage of NBA games.

The Celtics are one of the most popular teams in the NBA, and were struggling to get to the pinnacle for years before finally winning it all last year.

Perkins was very critical of the team in the past and said some nasty things about the franchise and management.

Grousbeck said on the podcast, “I had family members and players saying if that guys in the parade we’re not in the parade.”

It seems like most people connected to the organization were unanimous on this decision, and that it didn't take much to come to that conclusion.
