Celtics' Derrick White makes NBA history never done in Boston basketball image

Derrick White had a night never before done by a Boston Celtics player.

And he had quite the amusing thoughts on the NBA history he made in the process.

White was informed after Friday night's game that he was the first Celtic to ever have a game with 30 points, four blocks, four assists, four rebounds and nine made 3-pointers in the same game.

"I feel the more stats you put into it the less it means," White said with a laugh afterward.

That is a fair take from White.

It doesn't totally lessen the impressiveness of what he did, though.

His actual stats ended as 33 points, five rebounds, six assists, four blocks and 9-for-14 shooting from 3-point range.

The Celtics beat the Heat, 129-116, and White was a game-best plus-27.

Jaylen Brown added 30 points, nine rebounds and seven assists as Boston's two stars filled up the stat sheet.

It's cool for White to continue to prove himself one of the most underrated players in Celtics history. And it's funny that he had that thought about it, too.
