This season, the Boston Celtics roster will be one big question mark, and the legitimacy of their roster will be determined soon.
After losing Al Horford, Luke Kornet, and Kristaps Porziņģis, they are left with no solidified starting center and will continue to monitor the progress on Jayson Tatum’s ACL injury.
Financially, they are in a better position than before, but if they were to complete this trade proposed by Athlon Sports, Nathaniel Holloway things could be drastically different.
“In a potential trade, the (Detroit) Pistons could send Paul Reed, Javonte Green, and draft capital to the Celtics in exchange for (Sam) Hauser,” Holloway said Friday.
“He would likely see a large role in Detroit as well, where he would give the Pistons a great 3-point shooter off the bench, which is something they desperately need.”
Boston could be willing to give up the sharpshooter if it meant clearing cap space for years to come.

When the Detroit Pistons lost Tim Hardaway Jr., Malik Beasley, and Dennis Schröder, they lost a lot of their outside shooting, something every team needs.
A guy like Hauser has structured his game so that he is an elite three-point shooter, and while he does help out in other areas, he has carved himself out as one of the league's best snipers.
Detroit did bring in Duncan Robinson, someone with a very similar archetype to Hauser, but as far as three-point specialists go, that is the only guy they have.
Boston could be willing to reunite with Javonte Green, while getting Paul Reed, another player they could experiment with in the frontcourt.
