The Boston Celtics have had a rough offseason, and there might be one final blow to their disastrous summer.

Not much has been positive for the Celtics this summer. After the Celtics’ season ended with a second-round loss to the New York Knicks, they also had to deal with Jayson Tatum’s torn Achilles, which is set to keep him out for all of next season.

Given their inability to contend for a title in 2026 and a horrendous financial situation, the Celtics opted to make some significant changes in the summer. Brad Stevens chose to send out Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis, while letting Luke Kornet walk in free agency, but the final domino for the Celtics’ departures might finally fall in the near future.

Al Horford to The Bay?

Throughout the summer, it’s been evident that the Celtics were unlikely to bring back Horford. With the big man potentially entering the final season of his career, it wouldn’t make sense for him to spend it with a team that is firmly out of title contention, which has almost certainly led him to the Golden State Warriors.

In a recent article from Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus, he predicted that the Warriors would indeed add the 2024 champion and former All-Star. Pincus projects the deal to be a two-year minimum deal with a player option on year two.

Considering how important Horford has been to Boston over the past several seasons, it’s no surprise that another contender like the Warriors would be interested in signing him.
