The Toronto Blue Jays have been hoping for a while that Bo Bichette would be back at some point.
But the star shortstop is still out as the ALCS gets underway Sunday night against the Seattle Mariners. He's not on the roster for this series.
The Blue Jays have made it work so far, but at some point, it may be tough to not have their best base-hitter in the lineup.

Why isn't Bo Bichette playing in ALCS for Blue Jays?
Bo Bichette remains out as he tries to recover from a left knee sprain.
The Blue Jays kept him out for the ALDS, but he kept working in hopes of getting back if they advanced.
Toronto did advance, but Bichette still isn't ready.
Footage surfaced of him running the bases, and obvious pain after turning second base didn't seem like a good sign.

The Blue Jays have benefited this season from the emergence of Ernie Clement. That allows them to keep the infield in solid shape even without Bichette on the field.
Bichette's nightmare 2024 season was a long way away by the end of this campaign, in which he looked like his old self.
It's too bad he hasn't gotten to show off his rebound season in the playoffs so far.
He's also out of contract at the end of the year, and it'd be a shame if his Blue Jays tenure ended in injury.
