The Toronto Blue Jays were one of the most fun teams to watch last season. They did nearly everything but defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series.
However, they come into the new season as a contender, especially after some of the offseason moves they have made so far.
Their biggest addition came earlier in the offseason when they signed Dylan Cease to potentially lead the rotation, but followed that up by signing Cody Ponce, Tyler Rogers, and Kazuma Okamoto.

Latest MLB Power Rankings puts the pressure on the Blue Jays
With much of the offseason already over, we are getting a clearer picture of what teams could rival the Dodgers in 2026. MLB.com just released their latest Power Rankings, placing the team up North in second while the Dodgers keep their No. 1 spot.
"When you get as close as the Jays did to winning the World Series -- multiple times! -- you certainly can't be blamed for pushing as hard as they already have this offseason. They're clearly better with Dylan Cease and Kazuma Okamoto. Could Kyle Tucker be next?"
MLB.com's Will Leitch already loves what the Blue Jays have done this offseason, but questions if they are done. Kyle Tucker is still sitting on the open market, and Toronto
Signing Tucker could help replace some of the offense that will be lost if Bo Bichette signs elsewhere. That is the theory, given that Toronto went and signed Okamoto.
However, Toronto is not the only team looking to land one last big piece. The New York Yankees have been relatively quiet this offseason as they try to pursue Cody Bellinger. The New York Mets are also another team to watch out for who are pursuing Tucker.
So, if Toronto wants to overtake the Dodgers for the top spot in the Power Rankings, one last push for a big-time free agent could potentially do just that.
