The Toronto Blue Jays offense was on fire in the American League Division Series against the New York Yankees, scoring 10-plus runs twice and 34 runs in the four game series.
However, prior to the Blue Jays' 13-run outburst in Game 3 of the American League Championship Series on Wednesday night against the Seattle Mariners, Toronto had scored just four runs in the first two games of the ALCS.
On "The Craig Carton Show" on Tuesday, host Craig Carton made a bold accusation about the Blue Jays after the discrepancy in hitting.
Craig Carton accuses Blue Jays of cheating
After the Blue Jays eliminated the Yankees from the 2025 MLB postseason behind some explosive hitting, Toronto had a slow start the ALCS. That led to Carton accusing the Blue Jays of something that happened in 2017 with the Houston Astros.
"Toronto suddenly forgot how to hit a baseball. Which makes me think they were probably cheating against the New York Yankees and were stealing the Yankees’ signs," Carton said. "I’ll go to my grave thinking that."
Now, whether Carton actually believes this claim or he's just stirring the pot with the Yankees eliminated is to be determined.
The amount of actual ball knowledge some sports talk guys have is unreal.

This dude calls Bryce Miller, a 27 year old who was drafted and developed by the #Mariners who had the 8th best ERA in the league last year, a “journeyman, no-name” pitcher and a “tool”… pic.twitter.com/xmW4Lda4g7
However, Carton's point was that Mariners' starter Bryce Miller is not one of their top arms, and yet he dominated the Blue Jays lineup with the exception of George Springer's leadoff home run.
"I’m saying to myself, ‘now, wait a minute, Toronto can’t hit the ball against this tool, but when Max Fried is on the mound, he couldn’t get out of the third inning against this offense?'" Carton said. "Made me start thinking, 'Maybe we have another Houston Astros scandal on our hands with those rascals with Toronto.'"

While Carton's argument sounded somewhat justifiable after Games 1 and 2 of the ALCS, the Blue Jays exploded for 13 runs in Game 3 in Seattle. Plus, the Blue Jays' bats went quiet when they were at home, rather than when they were away in Seattle.
Regardless, the Blue Jays stole Game 3 in Seattle behind some offensive fireworks and now have a chance to even the series on Thursday night.
