Bo Bichette is reportedly willing to switch positions amid free agency image

Although the Toronto Blue Jays have been aggressive to begin the 2025 offseason, they've yet to come to terms with free agent Bo Bichette who spent the first seven years of his career in Toronto.

While Bichette remains unsigned, Toronto has signed Dylan Cease, Cody Ponce and Tyler Rogers. Additionally, Shane Bieber accepted his player option to return to the Blue Jays.

Although Bichette battled a knee injury throughout Toronto's playoff run, he returned in the World Series as the Blue Jays fell just short to the Los Angeles Dodgers in seven games.

In those World Series games, Bichette was one of Toronto's strongest performers, batting.348 with eight hits, one home run and six RBI's.

Due to Bichette's injury, he played second base for Toronto, swapping places with Andres Gimenez.

According to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, Bichette is reportedly open to playing second base as well as shortstop, his more natural position. While Bichette is likely to be monitored by teams in need of a shortstop, adding second base as a possible position could open up his market to more teams.

The Blue Jays remain interested in bringing Bichette back, but have also been rumored to be suitors for Kyle Tucker. Additionally, Alex Bregman has been linked to Toronto, if the Blue Jays were unable to sign Bichette and Tucker.

The Boston Red Sox have been heavily linked to both Bichette and Bregman, while the Detroit Tigers and Chicago Cubs have been linked to Bregman since the 2024 offseason.
