Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero Jr. reveals key reason for postseason success image

The Toronto Blue Jays could not have started the postseason in better fashion than they have. They have dismantled the New York Yankees in the first two games of the ALDS.

They have pushed a combined 23 runs across the board compared to the Bronx Bombers' eight. Now, they look to end their division rivals' season at Yankee Stadium Tuesday night.

For some teams, winning the division and having the first-round bye could hurt the team, but not with the Blue Jays. They made it their mission to come into this series with zero rust and looking to prove themselves.

Despite their star-studded roster, the Blue Jays have not seen much postseason success over the last few years. Wanting to wipe that bad taste out of their mouths, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. explains just how locked in this team is, via Sportsnet

"(Monday) was optional for everyone here, and we're all here."

After Toronto's 13-7 win against the Yankees on Sunday, the club had a day off on Monday. Guerrero Jr. mentions that even though it was an off day and getting work in was optional, everybody on the team showed up.

Up 2-0 in the series and only needing one more win, players could have stayed back and rested, but they did not. This goes to show just how important this postseason is for this team. They desperately want to bring back another World Series trophy to Toronto, something that has not been done since 1993.
