Vladimir Guerrero Jr. certainly feels worth it right about now.
Before the season, his contract status was a bit uncertain. But eventually, the Toronto Blue Jays relented and gave him a $500 million contract.
And now, Vladdy has the Blue Jays in the ALCS.
Is it as simple, in a game like baseball, to say this was all Guerrero's doing? Of course not.
But he also just became the first player in baseball history to have at least nine hits and nine RBI in one division series, according to Just Baseball. So he played a large part in it.

It also does, in a way, mean more to the whole roster when it's a guy like Guerrero doing the tone-setting.
Everyone on the Blue Jays knows who their leader is, who their best player is, who the face of their franchise is.
So when Vladdy goes out and homers in each of the first three games of the series, and has that mad dash and superhero slide into home plate, it's as energizing as anything could be for these Blue Jays.
Guerrero couldn't contain some tears on Wednesday night after the Blue Jays had beaten the New York Yankees in Game 4 to advance to the ALCS.
This is a guy who was born in Montreal. And this spring, he chose to commit the next decade-plus of his life to the Blue Jays, the only MLB team in Canada, the one that the whole country roots for.
At least on the diamond, this guy is the face of a nation.
And that face made sure that at the end of the ALDS, all his compatriots would be crying happy tears.
