Blue Jays’ Max Scherzer takes impressive step toward MLB return from injury image

Max Scherzer’s MLB return is imminent.

The Toronto Blue Jays’ right-handed star made another start for Triple-A Buffalo, this one on Wednesday night, and this one better than his last.

He threw the desired 75 pitches, an important mark in building back up to the majors.

And in 4.1 innings, he didn’t allow a run. He struck out eight hitters.

It could be all Scherzer needs to make it back to the majors. It’d be his turn to start on Tuesday against the Cleveland Guardians if he is ready.

Scherzer is dealing with a recurring thumb issue on his throwing hand.

It’s an injury that usually pops up the day after Scherzer throws, so that’ll again be the key indicator for Scherzer and the Blue Jays.

Scherzer threw only three innings in his first start with the Blue Jays before the injury issue.

One of the best pitchers of his generation, Scherzer is a boost for baseball as a whole when he’s on a big league mound.

And all indications are that his return is coming very, very soon.
