Blue Jays have shown more interest in potential $400 million free agent than they have in Bo Bichette image

A reunion between Bo Bichette and the Toronto Blue Jays is still possible, but given how long it has taken to happen, it’s starting to feel more unlikely by the day.

According to Mitch Bannon of The Athletic, sources believe Toronto has shifted its focus elsewhere, and elsewhere is none other than slugger Kyle Tucker.

“The Toronto Blue Jays remain linked to All-Star hitters Bo Bichette and Kyle Tucker. Although league sources said the Jays have increased their efforts to recruit Tucker, who remains a roster fit after the signing of Japanese slugger Kazuma Okamoto, a reunion with Bichette appears increasingly unlikely,” he wrote.

Bichette has been viewed as a big piece of the franchise, but after making the World Series without him and having other players ready to go, it might be best for both sides to move on.

With the roster changing, too, especially after the signing of Japanese star Kazuma Okamoto, there would have to be even more changes to the infield than people expected.

For now, the Blue Jays remain aggressive, and if Tucker were to take a deal elsewhere, going back to Bichette would make sense.

The offseason has been quiet, and there’s a chance Tucker's signing would speed things up for everyone, so perhaps that’s what will happen.
