Blue Jays get good news on Bo Bichette, Alex Bregman after Kazuma Okamoto signing image

The Toronto Blue Jays have been big spenders so far this offseason, and there are no signs of them slowing down anytime soon.

Kyle Tucker is still a top priority for Toronto, but, after the Kazuma Okamoto signing, there is doubt about whether they'll go after top infielders still.

But, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Blue Jays, despite spending $60 million on Okamoto, are planning to remain involved in the markets for the top infielders like Bo Bichette and Alex Bregman.

"The Blue Jays remain fully engaged in talks with infielders Bo Bichette and Alex Bregman," Nightengale writes, "with outfielder Kyle Tucker also remaining a possibility."

Toronto's front office isn't slowing down, as they're still involved in the top free agent markets for Bregman, Bichette, and Tucker even after all of the spending they'vedone this winter.

Across their free agent deals this offseason, the Blue Jays have spent a combined $337 million, with the $60 million deal for Okamoto being the most recent move.

That signing had many expecting Torotnoo to be out of the market for players like Bregman and Bichette, since Okamoto is an infielder first, and would likely take over at third base.

But, this update from Nightengale reveals that the Blue Jays are still very much interested in signing one of the top infielders. Bichette and Bregman are still on the table, with both being options for Toronto.

The Blue Jays aren't close to being done spending this offseason, and that could include signing an infielder like Bichette or Bregman.

Tucker might still make the most sense for the Blue Jays, but fans shouldn't rule out the possibility of Bregman or Bichette making their way to Toronto this winter.
