The Toronto Blue Jays finally got their MLB postseason underway on Saturday, and they did it in style.

The Blue Jays crushed the New York Yankees, 10-1, in the first game of the ALDS.

The Blue Jays' return to the spotlight added some shine to George Springer, who had an incredible season.

In fact, Springer had one of the best year-over-year growths in MLB history.

The statistician on X, @JayHayKid, broke down Springer's improvement in OPS from 2024 to 2025.

Springer had a .674 OPS in 2024 and a .959 in the 2025 regular season.

That's the third-biggest improvement since 1950, he writes, for players with 500-plus plate appearances in each season.

The second-largest increase was Adrian Beltre from 2003-04, who went up by .303 points.

The largest increase was by Al Kaline from 1954 to 1955, when he went up by .315 points.

Those are two of the best right-handed hitters in baseball history, who both went on to great careers after their improvements.

Springer is at a different point in his career, looking like he was washed up only to be revitalized again.

If the Blue Jays are to make a run at a World Series, Springer will surely get the chance to continue showing he's his best self once again.
