The Toronto Blue Jays are one of many teams looking to spend big this winter, and they've already made their additions of Dylan Cease on A $210 million deal, and their other offseason moves thus far.
But, they're not done yet, as they're eyeing some more help for the lineup this winter. Specifically, the Blue Jays front office is targeting the top of the free agent class.
Toronto is a "dark horse" landing spot for one free agent infielder, according to Robert Murray of Fansided.com. This free agent is a former Houston Astros and Boston Red Sox All-Star, and is third baseman Alex Bregman.
Blue Jays are 'dark horse' free agent landing spot for alex Bremgan
"The Jays have been connected to Bregman, Kyle Tucker, and Bo Bichette this offseason," Murray writes. "Bichette should be the priority... And it's very likely Bregman is the fallback if they aren't able to retain Bichette."
Toronto eyeing Bregman as a replacement for Bichette isn't an unheard-of rumor this offseason. He's been steadily linked to more teams as his market stagnates, with the Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, and Arizona Diamondbacks all in on Bregman.
But, with Arizona likely not going to sign Bregman, the Cubs expressing trust in Matt Shaw, and the Red Sox exploring plenty of other options for their infield, te blue Jays might be one of the best landing spots for Bregman.

As Murray points out, they're a "dark horse" for the three-time All-Star third baseman. He won't be as expensive as Tucker would be, but he's still not cheap.
Coming off an All-Star season with Boston and declining a $40 million option for the 2026 season, Bregman is seeking a big new contract.
His.821 OPS and 3.5 bWAR in 114 games are a strong mark that should net him a decent contract this offseason. Returning to Boston might be the most likely outcome, but a trip to Toronto is also strongly in the cards.
The Blue Jays are a "dark horse" for Bregman in free agency, and while his market is moving slowly, as the New Year approaches, some action could ramp up again as Spring training steadily approaches.
