The Toronto Blue Jays have spent the most money this winter, adding over $300 million in contract value to their roster this winter.
But that's not expected to be the final total. They're still interested in the top free agents, like Kyle Tucker, Bo Bichette, and potentially even Cody Bellinger.
However, a new report from Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic is a concerning one for the Blue Jays, as they're reportedly not as big of suitors for the top remaining free agents as previously anticipated.
Blue Jays get concerning free agent update on top sluggers
"Didn't mention Blue Jays as one of the big-market teams looking for a bat," Rosenthal reports. "Obviously, they still could sign one of the top remaining free agents. But after getting Okamoto, I just don't see them being as needy as the other five teams I listed."
Rosenthal isn't completely shutting down the Blue Jays' chances of signing one of the best free-agent hitters left on the market, but this report doesn't bode well.
Tucker, Bichette, Bellinger, and any other top free agent left on the market could still come to Toronto, but this report from Rosenthal suggests the Blue Jays might not be as strong a suitor as they once were.
The Kazuma Okamoto signing has mostly rounded out their infield and lineup, but they could still use another bat, especially in the outfield.

But, Rosenthal doesn't believe they need a big bat like Tucker this winter compared to some of the other top market clubs this offseason.
While there's no guarantee that the Blue Jays sign one of the top remaining free agents, for a long time now, they've been widely viewed as the favorite, if not one of the favorites, for Tucker this winter.
This report now puts that idea in jeopardy, as the Blue Jays might not be as serious a contender for a top slugger this winter as they were to open the offseason.
The Blue Jays are still a likely suitor for Tucker and top free agents, but this report from Rosenthal is a concerning one that's hard to ignore for fans. Don't count Toronto out just yet, but a top free agent might not be as likely as it once was.
