The Boston Red Sox want to improve and have already done so, but the offense could still use some help.
While pitching is still something they want, this front office wants offense, mainly impact bats who can put the lineup over the top.
Boston has been linked to many elite hitters, and Bo Bichette’s name keeps coming up as a player they want.
Adding someone like Bichette wouldn’t just fill a spot, as it would signal that Boston is serious about keeping pace in the AL East, all while stealing him from the Toronto Blue Jays.
Ken Rosenthal believes a pitching signing or trade is possible, but Bichette is another name to watch.
“A pitching addition should not be ruled out for Boston, but the Red Sox are more focused on position players. Bregman and Bichette continue to stand out as potential fits. On the pitching side, the Sox have expressed some interest in Peralta,” he wrote.
Bichette makes sense for many reasons, as he’s proven that he’s one of the better offensive infielders in baseball.
If Boston wants a legit bat to help the offense, he does that.
Alex Bregman fits that, too, so if they land one or the other, that should be a good thing for the Red Sox.
