The Toronto Blue Jays are involved in almost every market for the top remaining free agents this winter. Kyle Tucker, Alex Bremgana, and most importantly, Bo Bichette are all still linked to the Blue Jays.
Re-signing Bichette this winter would be an ideal scenario for the Blue Jays, but it won't come easy. And a new report on New Year's Day only made things worse.
According to Jon Heyman of The New York Post, the Blue Jays' superstar infielder is drawing interest from three new teams, each of which could pose a big hurdle to the Blue Jays retaining Bichette.
Blue Jays get bad news on Bo Bichette amid latest rumor
"Three previously unreported teams have checked on superstar Bo Bichette: Yankees, Dodgers, and Cubs," Heyman reported.
This report from Heyman suggests that the Blue Jays will need to stave off the New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, and the Los Angeles Dodgers if they want to keep Bichette.
While keeping Bichette isn't the only path for the Blue Jays this winter, it's still one of the more likely outcomes, especially amid a slow-moving market.
But, with teams showing interest in Bichette now, especially these three clubs, there's a bit more concern about finding a way to bring him back to Toronto.

Of these three, the Cubs are the only team that wouldn't be a complete disaster for the Blue Jays. They're not a division foe, nor a rival. IT would sting, but it wouldn't be a betrayal.
But if Bichette were to go to the Yankees, an AL East division rival, or the Dodgers, a hated rival from the 2025 World Series, it would be a very frustrating decision.
Bichette's market has fluctuated this offseason, and the Blue Jays might not be able to keep him this winter, regardless of whether it's a long-term or a short-term deal.
With the Dodgers, Yankees, and Cubs now showing interest in Bichette, things just got a lot trickier for the Blue Jays in their effort to retain the superstar shortstop/second baseman for the 2026 season and beyond.
