The Toronto Blue Jays' fanbase isn't happy to see Bo Bichette go.

Bichette grew up in the Toronto system, but on Friday, he signed with the New York Mets for a contract worth three years and $126 million.

It's obviously frustrating for Toronto fans after the Blue Jays made it to Game 7 of the World Series, only to lose in extra innings.

They also watched the Blue Jays pay Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Last spring only to come up short on Bichette now.

One former Blue Jays pitcher, though, the one-time All Star Ricky Romero, thinks fans need to calm down.

This is what he posted on X on Friday:

Romero also added this in a reply:

"His 'best friend' got paiddd! Rightfully so he deserves to get paid as well. Who knows what the jays offered him. I get the frustration of seeing a home grown player leave. Sucks, but what can you do."

Romero is a name Blue Jays fans may not have heard for a while. He started his career 42-29 through his first three seasons, and made the All-Star Game in 2011 with a 2.92 ERA.

Then he was a 5.77 ERA in 2012, brutal early in 2013 and never pitched in the majors again.

But clearly, he's still paying attention.
