The Toronto Blue Jays came from behind in Game 1 of the 2025 World Series to win 11-4 against the Los Angeles Dodgers and take a 1-0 lead in the series.

A big part of that win was Addison Barger's pinch-hit grand slam in the sixth inning, a moment that extended the Blue Jays' 5-2 lead to 9-2 and sent the Rogers Centre into a frenzy.

After the game, Barger joined the Fox Sports postgame show and received a gift from Big Papi. However, the Blue Jays' slugger left the gift behind when he left, and explained why afterward.

Barger explains hilarious exchange with Big Papi

After Barger came through with the hit of the game to power the Blue Jays to a Game 1 win over the Dodgers, he joined the Fox Sports postgame show.

That's when Big Papi gifted Barger a "My Dawg" shirt for his game-sealing grand slam.

However, the Blue Jays' slugger left Big Papi's shirt on the table when he left the postgame show, and explained why in the postgame press conference.

"I left it. It was Red Sox on it," Barger said. "I'm not wearing that. Are you kidding me?"

Then, Barger was asked if he had limitations when it comes to free shirts.

"Absolutely. I'm not wearing a team that's in our division's shirt," Barger said with a laugh. "No way. It's awesome, but no."

Whether players have actually wanted to wear Big Papi's "My Dawg" shirt or not, they've always taken the shirt when gifted it by the Red Sox's legend.

However, Barger had the guts to leave it on the set, and was not backing down from dissing the Red Sox.

Barger is back in the Blue Jays' starting lineup for Game 2 in Toronto. Will we see more fireworks from the Blue Jays' outfielder?
