ESPN Analyst Believes that Texas Rangers OF Wyatt Langford Is the Next Star On this Team
Many different ESPN MLB writers released the latest MLB power rankings on Thursday. Texas is ranked 16 in the latest power rankings. Jesse Rogers of ESPN believes that Langford is going to be the next big star for this baseball team. He said,
"A late win streak was followed by a later losing skid, eliminating the 2023 champs from the postseason for a second consecutive season. On the docket for Rangers brass is the future of manager Bruce Bochy and how to get more out of their inconsistent offense. That has now been a two-year question, though recent injuries to Marcus Semien and Corey Seager didn't help. Neither was having a fantastic year anyway. As they age, the team needs new leaders at the plate. Wyatt Langford has looked the part at times. At 23 years old, he should be the next Rangers star. After an offensive evaluation is completed, president of baseball operations Chris Young's winter goal will undoubtedly be to improve their run scoring."
Langford played in 134 games for Texas this season. He had a .241 batting average with 22 home runs and 62 RBIs, along with 22 stolen bases and six caught stolen base attempts. His on-base percentage was .344. He is only 23 years old and should have a bright future ahead of him in the MLB.
Langford needs to be the star of this team moving forward. He has the potential to hit 30 or more home runs in future season and also have 90-100 RBIs. This team needs to have better luck with its health in 2026. Not only does this team need to build around him, but the Rangers also have to figure out if Bruce Bochy will be the manager next season or not.
