With the conclusion of the 2025 MLB season on Saturday night—when the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays in seven games to claim the World Series title—the offseason festivities have officially begun.

On Sunday, Rawlings announced the Gold Glove Award winners for both the American and National Leagues. The St. Louis Cardinals had two finalists this year, but only one player took home the honor.

That winner was shortstop Masyn Winn, who was stellar defensively throughout the 2025 season. Winn led all of baseball in Outs Above Average (OAA) for most of the year before a torn meniscus cut his season short. Despite missing the final few weeks, he still finished tied for third in OAA with 21, trailing only Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. And Chicago Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong.

Each of those players also earned Gold Glove Awards in their respective leagues, with Crow-Armstrong edging out another Cardinals nominee, center fielder Victor Scott II, for the National League honor.

Winn also finished tied for sixth in Fielding Run Value (FRV), including third among all National League players—a strong indicator of his defensive consistency and range throughout the year.

His Gold Glove marks the first by a Cardinals shortstop since Edgar Renteria, who won back-to-back awards in 2002 and 2003.

Now, attention shifts to the Platinum Glove Award, which honors the best overall defender in each league. Winn will be among the favorites, though he’ll face stiff competition from Crow-Armstrong and Ke’Bryan Hayes.
