It has been quite the season for the Seattle Mariners. They rallied at the end of the season to win the American League West, their first division crown since their historic 2001 season.
By winning the division and having a better record than the Cleveland Guardians, they have secured a first-round bye. They have the luxury of resting up while teams battle it out in the Wild Card round.
Seattle will wait patiently to see who moves on from the Wild Card between the Detroit Tigers and the Cleveland Guardians. This is who the club will face in the ALDS, with their first game taking place this Saturday.
ALDS Game 1 and 2 start times set
Seattle has secured home-field advantage to start the ALDS. ALDS Game 1 and Game 2 will both be played at T-Mobile Park, but Game 1's time depends on who wins between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees, via Seattle Sports' Brent Stecker.
"The Mariners will play Game 1 of their ALDS against the Cleveland Guardians and Detroit Tigers at one of two times Saturday: either 1:08 p.m.(PT) if the Boston Red Sox win their ALWCS against the New York Yankees, or 5:38 p.m. (PT) if the Yankees win that series. Seattle will play Game 2 at 5:03 p.m. (PT) Sunday regardless of which teams advance to the divisional round."
The only time that is up in the air is on Saturday. That is dependent on whether the Red Sox or the Yankees win the series. Their game time for Sunday will allow the Seattle Seahawks to keep their original kickoff time of 1:05 p.m. PT against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
