The Seattle Mariners are coming off an incredible season. They won the AL West for the first time since the 2001 season, and had a great ride in the postseason.
They made it all the way to the ALCS and fought hard against the Toronto Blue Jays. However, they were no match for Toronto as they went on to the World Series.
Now the attention turns to the future. While some are enthralled in the offseason rumors, it is never too early to think about next year's draft.
Mariners projected to take Auburn infielder in early 2026 mock draft
Having such a good season, the Mariners will be drafting with the 24th overall pick. While that is a late pick, there will be tons of great talent still left to choose from.
Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter recently came out with his early 2026 mock draft. In it, he believes Seattle could be a great destination for Auburn second baseman Chris Rembert.
"After hitting.344/.467/.555 with 14 doubles, 10 home runs and 46 RBI in 57 games as a freshman, Rembert went 9-for-21 with two doubles, three home runs and eighty RBI in five games in the Cape Cod League and led Team USA with a.278 batting average over the summer."
Scouts loved Rembert's bat as a high school kid in Florida, but were not sure about the other parts of his game. So, he attended Auburn and proved them all wrong.
He has a reliable glove at second base and provides steady defense. One area that he does lack is with his speed, as he is not much of a threat on the basepaths.
However, he does not need to be fast with the bat he currently has. Rembert has a quick swing that works to all parts of the field. He also has a great approach and understands the strike zone well, making him a great potential pick for Seattle.
