The Seattle Mariners are coming off one of the best seasons the organization has ever had. They finished the regular season with a record of 90-72, capturing the AL West and making the postseason.

In the ALDS, they took down the Detroit Tigers, but would have some trouble with the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALCS. They would go on to lose the series 4-3, ending their season.

They came into the offseason and made it their mission to re-sign Josh Naylor, who was a big part of the club's offense last year. Just this move alone puts them in a good spot for the 2026 season.

While many teams have been fighting to bolster their starting rotation, Seattle has no need for that. They come into 2026 with a strong starting rotation with Luis Castillo, Logan Gilbert, and George Kirby leading the way.

They did, however, make a move to help bolster their bullpen. They made a trade with the Washington Nationals to acquire Jose Ferrer, who is expected to be a high-leverage lefty.

Despite not making a ton of moves, Seattle still has the roster to be a contender. MLB.com just came out with their latest Power Rankings, and in it, they placed the Mariners third.

"We all keep waiting for the Mariners to make anotheraddition or two, and while they still might, this already looks like the clear AL West favorite. Now that they've cracked the door open, are they ready to finally rush through it?"

MLB.com's Will Leitch proposes the Mariners do not need to make another move, but they certainly still could. Do not be surprised if they engage in a trade with the St. Louis Cardinals to acquire Brendan Donovan, who can play all over the field.
