Eugenio Suarez hasn't been his best self since coming to the Seattle Mariners at the trade deadline.
But he's found a groove just a bit as the season has headed toward the playoffs, and he made history on Thursday night.
Suarez hit his 49th home run of the season for Seattle.
On a personal level, that's special. It ties Suarez's career-high for home runs in a single season.
And on an MLB history level, it's a big one, too.
Suarez is now tied with Harmon Killebrew for the second-most home runs ever hit in a season by a primary third baseman.
Of course, Suarez had already tied Killebrew once before.
That gives Suarez two of the four-best HR-hitting seasons by a third baseman ever.
First place on the list is Alex Rodriguez, who had 54 home runs in a third base season.

Suarez could still break the tie with Killebrew and get to 50 for the first time. He's got three games left with the Mariners entering their final series of the regular season.
The best news for Seattle, of course, is that there season doesn't end here.
They've clinched the AL West and will be trying to make some playoff noise, too. And if Suarez heats up, that'll be a big help.
