The Seattle Mariners sprung right away at the beginning of free agency.
They made sure, with a five-year contract worth $92 million, that Josh Naylor wasn't going anywhere.
Since then, though, it's been pretty quiet.
Eugenio Suarez is still out there, as are big names from other teams like Kyle Tucker, Cody Bellinger, Bo Bichette and Alex Bregman.
Will the Mariners shell out any more cash? ESPN's Jeff Passan isn't so sure.
In a post on Threads, Passan wrote this:
"I’m not sure there’s another big swing left. At the same time, if the market is going in the wrong direction for players and the right fit slips between the cracks, maybe the Mariners spring for the luxury. Ownership never has shown much of a willingness to do that, so perhaps it’s wishful thinking and they head into next year with a team that will be favored to win the West. Could they use more? Of course. Am I OK breaking in Colt Emerson now? Sure am."
MORE: Team USA's projected WBC lineup is incredible
Emerson, for those unfamiliar, is one of the top prospects in baseball. He's a shortstop, although he could begin his MLB career at third base if Suarez isn't brought back.
The Mariners went to Game 7 of the ALCS in 2025. As a franchise, they've still never reached the World Series.
Any moves they make now, with an incredibly strong core, are aimed at ending that drought.
They just might not be any more flashy pickups, based on what Passan says.
