The Seattle Mariners are seeking some more help this offseason, but they aren't a team planning to invest big into the free agent market after already spending big on Josh Naylor this offseason.
Another infielder, specifically at second base or third base, is still on the table for the Marniers this winter. Bo Bichette of the Toronto Blue Jays is the best free agent option, but how likely is his chance of coming to Seattle?
According to ESPN's Jeff Passan, the Mariners chances of signing Bichette this winter are a brutal reality. Passan gave the update that Mariners fans were hoping not to see: he still believes the Mariners odds for Bichette are at 0%.
Mariners free agent update on Bo Bichette is bad news
"I don't believe that has changed," Passan said of the Mariners 0% odds for Bichette he mentioned earlier in the offseason, "but then again, if the prices on players dip to the point they can make it feasible, I wouldn't say there's zero chance."
Seattle, as things stand entering the New Year, has a zero percent chance of signing free agent shortstop/second baseman Bo Bichette.
He would be a great addition for the Mariners, and while Passan revealed the Mariners might get into his market if it collapses, such a scenario isn't likely at the moment.

There are plenty of teams still interested in Bichette this winter, including the Boston Red Sox, Blue Jays, and potentially the San Francisco Giants, among many others.
And even if his market drops significantly, that doesn't mean the Mariners will be the only team potentially interested in signing Bichette. There are plenty of other teams that might show interest if his market collapses that aren't in now.
Based on this report from Passan, Mariners fans hoping their team signs Bichette should consider other options, as presently, their odds are 0%, and even if the market collapses, they likely won't rise much higher than that.
