The Seattle Mariners are trying to make the ALCS for the first time since 2001 and the Detroit Tigers are standing in their way.

After a lengthy rain delay, Game 3 of the ALDS got underway at Comerica Park in Detroit. Seattle won handily, 8-4 as the Mariners were in the lead for the majority of the game, and the win was sealed by Cal Raleigh launching a two-run homer to left-center field.

The ball landed in what looked like a sea of Tiger fans, but upon closer inspection, the ball happened to find a Mariners fan in the crowd. That fan happened to be wearing the perfect shirt that caused him to go viral on social media after catching the ball.

Here is more on the Mariners fan who caught Raleigh's 61st home run of the season.

How a lucky Mariners fan caught Cal Raleigh's 61st home run

Raleigh hit his first of the playoffs on Tuesday night and the fan that caught Raleigh's home run was not only a Mariners fan, but was also wearing a t-shirt that read "Dump 61 Here," asking the star switch-hitting catcher to hit his 61st home run of the season to him, which he did.

Raleigh not only managed to find a Mariners fan in the Detroit crowd, but hit his 61st home run to a Seattle fan wearing a shirt asking for the 61st home run specifically, and not the run-of-the-mill team merch. To make things even more interesting, after the fan caught the ball, he took off the shirt revealing yet another shirt, saying "Dump 62 Here."

The fan's electric night continued after the game when he got to meet Raleigh, who told him to keep the home run ball. The Seattle catcher also gave the fan a signed a baseball bat. Raleigh wrote the message "Thanks for cheering us on & catching 61!" on the bat.

Who is Jameson Turner?

The Mariners club staff helped get the fan who caught the home run down toward the locker room, where he met with media, and Raleigh. Jameson Turner. is from Longview, Washington, located approximately two hours south of Seattle. Despite being born in Longview, Turner says that he has lived in Las Vegas for 25 years.

Turner said that he made the shirt for the regular-season finale in Seattle, which he attended. Once he decided to attend the ALDS games, he made a second shirt "for when I caught 61." Turner said he made the shirts himself at home with a Cricut machine. He didn't indicate if he will be attending Game 4 or any other Mariners games in the series or beyond.
