The San Francisco Giants have signed a former Seattle Mariners pitcher who hasn't pitch in MLB since 2021.
On a low-risk minor league contract, it's a chance for the Giants to see if there's anything left in the tank.
The pitcher is Nick Margevicius, and his signing was reported by Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area.
Margevicius last pitched in the majors for the Seattle Mariners in 2021. He appeared in five games before undergoing shoulder surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome.
When he returned from injury, Margevicius spent time in the minors for the Mariners and then the Braves.

In 2024, Margevicius pitched in the Chinese Professional Baseball league for the TSG Hawks.
In 2025, he started the season in the Mexican League, then joined the Detroit Tigers.
At Triple-A Toledo in 2025, Margevicius had a 3.89 ERA.
Margevicius is a 6-foot-5 lefty who originally entered pro baseball as a seventh-round pick in the 2017 MLB Draft out of Rider University.
He's originally from Cleveland, Ohio, where he pitched at St. Ignatius High School.
Now, he'll try to prove he belongs in MLB once again after a long time away.
