There has been no official retirement announcement.
But apparently, Max Stassi's days as a professional baseball player is over. He's transitioning into coaching.
Stassi spent the 2025 season in the San Francisco Giants' organization, although he was hurt for much of the campaign.
In 2026, Stassi will be the catching coach for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, with the news reported by the Orange County Register.

Stassi is 34 and had a solid major league career.
He was a fourth-round draft pick of the Oakland Athletics who was then traded to the Houston Astros before his MLB debut in 2013.
Stassi played 163 games for the Astros, spread across seven seasons.
The Angels traded for Stassi at the 2019 deadline. In 2021, he hit 13 home runs and slugged.426.
Stassi signed a three-year contract extension going into 2022 but struggled at the dish.
He hasn't played in MLB since that 2022 season, when he batted.180.
Stassi didn't play in 2023 due to a hip injury and personal reasons.
In 2024, Stassi was with the White Sox organization, before joining the Giants' system in 2025.
He finishes his MLB career as a.212 hitter with 41 home runs.
He'll be on the Angels staff with new manager Kurt Suzuki, who was his teammate when they both played for the Angels.
